Oh, how horrid I used to be at math,
The worst in all the land.
But nothing could prepare me for
The problem soon at hand.

Nervously facing the problem
With some paper and a pen,
It soon became clear to me
That I could never win.

A perfect combination of
Three words, two hearts, one kiss.
The numbers all seem to add,
So what could be amiss?

The rules of multiplication
Have always stated that
Zero times one hundred
Still don't give you jack.

Well, I sure wasn't zero,
But that didn't help me much.
Because, if he was less than one,
I'd be left with zilch.

I soon learned to simplify
By subtracting some of my worry.
But that nagging feeling never left;
Should I solve this in a hurry?

One thing that I had forgotten
Is if "p" is "r" and "r" is "q"
Then "p" was "q" all along.
Kind of like zero wasn't you.

If "he" was "love" and "love" was "me"
That meant there was an "us."
I began to laugh at myself
For starting such a fuss.

Love is a lot like math
In many ways but one;
Math includes a lot of reason,
Love, it don't have none.
